Riau, sumatraterkini.id – Allegations of fuel misuse have resurfaced. This time, PT Texcal Energy Mahato, which operates in the oil and gas industry as an exploration and production operator, is strongly suspected of using illegal fuel (industrial diesel). It is highly likely that the diesel used was not from Pertamina.
Based on information from residents and a field investigation on Tuesday (October 28, 2025), the sumatraterkini.id Team hopes that law enforcement will investigate the alleged misuse of fuel origin in the tender for the supply of diesel fuel by PT Texcal Energy, Mahato Block, in the Pekanbaru, Riau working area, to serve as a deterrent for perpetrators.
“This is completely inconsistent with the applicable regulations, and this activity should be properly monitored by SKK Migas as the supervisor of upstream activities and as the coordinator of all K3S, law enforcement is asked to go directly to the location,” continued SI as an oil and gas monitor and one of the Secretaries General of Community Institutions, Wednesday (29/10/2025).
“The law clearly states that using illegal fuel violates Article 55 of Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas (Oil and Gas Law), which was amended through Article 40, number 9 of Law Number 6 of 2023 concerning the Stipulation of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation into Law. According to this article, violators can be subject to the following sanctions: A maximum of 6 years’ imprisonment. A maximum fine of IDR 60 billion. In addition to imprisonment and fines, other sanctions can be imposed on corporations, such as the freezing or revocation of business licenses, asset confiscation, and payment of state losses. Furthermore, a community member who identified himself as Ajo Masyarakat Riau confirmed this, stating that the diesel fuel was not sourced from Pertamina.
“Yes, sir, from my observations, PT Texcal Energy Mahato Riau is strongly suspected of sourcing diesel from an external source, not from Pertamina. If law enforcement officers do not follow up on this matter, “This could be detrimental to the state and the wider community.
It only benefits the relevant parties. We hope this matter will be brought to the attention of the Police, the Prosecutor’s Office, and the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) so they can take firm action against the allegations,” Ajo explained.
